26 April 2023: Sellar, the London focused investor and developer and in partnership with Aviva Investors, have secured planning permission for the refurbishment and redevelopment of Bermondsey Yards following a unanimous decision by Southwark Council.

The decision paves the way for the joint venture to deliver a carefully coordinated campus that aims to invigorate the Bermondsey neighbourhood, improve local connections, and restore a historic 19th Century Warehouse.

Designed in collaboration with Studio RHE and John Robertson Architects, new plans respond to feedback from the community and local businesses that will see the neighbourhood character safeguarded and historic building fabric preserved. Featuring brick façades and stepped-back floors to offer occupiers external green terraces, the designs have sensitively taken into consideration the historic warehouse setting, which remains a distinct element in the streetscape.

The project will also deliver retail, affordable workspace and create over 900 jobs and has ambitious sustainability concepts to exceed the London Plan’s Carbon Reduction Targets and achieve BREEAM Outstanding rating.
