Renzo Piano Building Workshop
Designed by Renzo Piano, Paddington Square is a new public space that’s destined to completely revive the Paddington area, both above and below ground. Visitors will exit Paddington Station to a mix of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars, and an inviting piazza.
The project will be dominated by a landmark mixed-use building, hovering 17 storeys above 1.35 acres of public realm. This striking structure will be visible across the London skyline, and will feature 360,000 square feet of spacious, light-filled office space with views across London and 78,000 square feet of retail space. Visitors to the rooftop restaurant can dine, relax and enjoy 270 degree panoramic vistas of Hyde Park, Westminster and the City.
The transformation continues below ground, with a spacious new ticket hall for the Bakerloo Line, step-free access to all levels along with doubled escalator capacity, ensuring a quicker and more comfortable journey for all passengers.
Paddington Square will create thousands of jobs, and turn this previously neglected site into a stunning section of cityscape. It’s a fitting new look for one of London’s most historic station districts.
